weather was **** yesterday so took the day off work & knocked up a shelter for the birds-saves me having to get them in when it pours down-£50 to build & took 2hrs.

wouldnt do the bird any harm to be freelofted when not flying. You could put the bird out in the garden on a perch while you are around-change of scenery. No need for a weathering as well, ive built it so they can stay out rain or shine

What happens when the grass underneath dies and you're left with bare, dirty ground?

Paul
How will you get rid of the mutes building up around the perch? It is bound to get on the feet, leash etc. Are the posts sunken in or will it be moved around rhe garden every so often? Are you thinking of getting any gravel or anything for easy cleaning?

the posts are not fixed so it is moveable, the mutes clean up easy with a trowel no problem. Gravel may be put down at a later date.
Give me a chance guys ive only just built the ****ing thing lol

like it, just got a kestrel and currently planning her weathering, didn't think about the plastic stuff for a roof, lets the light through too. I'll be putting a mesh front on mine though.
