i've seen in a few places now odd people refering to them selfs as ''Master falconer''! whats with that? no such thing if u ask me! we are all beginers!
master my arse!

They are American falconers - it is a title for the most qualified and experienced. It ditates the number of hawks allowed to be flown. As the state dictates the qualification and regulations.

mater just means they have reached the top level of ability...

I dont know who decided they have reached it though :?: You get it in loads of different skillful applications..I have a mate who is a master cheese maker! - shame I dont like cheese really.

If its in terms of falconry, its highly likely to be related to, as jim said the American system, and the type of licence he has. Master just means you have been a licenced falconer for at least five years.

Master falconer means nothing more than they can have three birds and that they have been a falconer for at least 7 years, 2 for apprentice and five for general class. It means nothing of their abilities. I know several general falconers that can out do many master class falconers. I could keep one bird for 7 years and not even fly it....still eligable for a masters permit.
