if your leash is of a decent lenght you should only require one maybe two if you put your bird on a real short leash and you need to take up the slack

if you man the bird well and get its weight right you dont need any falconers knots...i sit mine on the perch and yell stay...she never moves...but i do super glue velcro to the bottom of her feet and then to the perch this stops any nasty accidental escapes....and it also helps to prevent any foot problems because of the cushioning from the velcro....
i use black chics on my bird, he just prefers them...its the backside that does it i think...
and the best gos to get ...and i dare anybody to argue this point is a eagle...and make sure its malimprinted....this will in the long run make you a better falconer....as removing it from your face is not as difficult as it seems when you have the velcro on the feet....
now all your questions have been answered i suggest you go buy yourself a monkey eating eagle, and i shall take over as your mentor....
two knots every time, number one the slack is no good trailing around and getting s hit on, number two a few times i have gone to pick up a bird that has undone one of the knots! if there hadnt been two it could have been a disaster! .. vultures seem particularly good at that ! also had a eeo that loved to pick at th knots all day long! thus the only bird ive used a clip on style leash with due to obvious reasons!

I use one falconers knot and then one or two half hitches as safetly knots, Its how I was taught and seems fine to me

i always use 2-3 falconers knots, better safe than sorry, harris' especially good at untying them lol
i do two knots and if theres enough leash a half hitch.
so what about yolk, or deyolk? i use the yolk unless i need his weight perfect, then its easyer to judge by a deyolked chick.
