I was flying my fhh today when she got to grips with a cock pheasant, had hold for about 15-20 seconds, then lost grip / let go.
Made my over to the bird and she could'nt stand properly, her head was turning side to side looking at the sky (dazzed).
This happened 2 seasons ago also, done the same as before, showed her food, just tried to keep her awake sort of thing took a couple of minutes to come round.
Anyone else experienced this, bang to the head (concusion) im guessing, scary tho

What was around that she might of made contact with, other than the pheasant of course, anything more solid. has anything else odd happened to her, have you ever looked at her and thought emm... is something not just quite right, but then it seemed to be ok. Allsorts of things can happen you see, they can have fits and things like that. I don't want to worry you but as you have mentioned that it has happened before, it sounds a bit more odd to me to have a bird get concussion in exactly the same way twice. Definately keep an eye on her, and let us know how you both get on

not saying it is anthing more sinister of course. It does sound like she has had a blow to the head. But it is always good to keep an open mind and watch for sinister stuff when something has happened more than once. Also a good idea to record exact details of what happened then if it happens again you have a record of this time and details that you would naturally forget are there and they could be relevence

Nothing she could have hit apart the pheasant or the ground. kept her inside last night to be on the safe side, carried on flying after it happened and today
so all is well
Spoke to someone when it happened the first time (2yrs ago) who's male hit a fence, his bird seemed to act in same manor

i'v heard that sometimes, rarely, birds can have addrenalin overloads and go abit loopy4a few seconds! i'v seen it in a black kite, i think, when it was at a v. tight weight and got so scared it started falling in circles4a few secs! in a demo2! then it was fine! i could be very wrong tho.

I wasnt sure if that could happen. Could it be a little like headrush?
Like we stand up to fast we dont notice it until we have stopped moving but just become dizzy?
They fly to fast after been still for a while and just get dizzy?
