hello everyone i was born in zimbabwe and a while back i was out fishing on a lake ona friends farm and i noticed a fich eagle looking rather worse for wear so i followed it and it landed in the middle of a feild and just sat there so i decided to catch it which wasnt easy but i caught it in the end which wasnt s gd sign so i took it home and checked her over she had inly 1 eye and was thin to the bone with cut up feet i put her in a cage and feed her fresh bream but she ate and then regurgitated it eventually she died and i looked at her again and she had a large hole on her upper legs gon to her stomach
does anyone know what could have happend it seems she had a fight of sum kind i'll try get pic's up tonight for ya cheers
Best thing to do is to get it to a vet to look over it and do a post mortem. Should of done this in the first place really. It shouldn't cost anything as they don't usually charge for wild animals.
NGuruve, was this in Zimbabwe or in Dorset?

haha yer this is in zimbabwe and the vets out there arent to gd plus there is no fuel in the country so would be a mission to get there so just tryed to rehabilitate it myself ive done this with many animals out there and thankfully most live but this was very unusual

Hole through the leg and into the chest cavity? Sounds like it had a fight with a bullet to me.

Sorry mate. I thought it was Dorset after seeing your location. I would agree with Weasel. Sounds like a bullet. :(

My first thoughts were a bullet I'm afraid.
I was enchanted by the fish eagle when I worked in Zimbabwe in the early 80's.
