vest for me
I bought one from ebay the cordura one that seems to getting more popular for £20 +p+p and the wife is going to modify it by putting a side sprung clipp on the left strap so i dont have to put the bird down if i have to take it off at any time. I just un clip it

If anyone is interested in any bags I have just started to make a few designs in large and small. They arent cheap but they are cracking quality. Unfortunately due to the amount of time it takes to cut the patterns I have to make 3 at a time. They are made from real canvas in brown or green and are all leather bound and with full brass furniture. For good measure I will chuck in a free leather hood pouch. Please also note that the leather sling is priced seperately.
I am in the process of putting together a pattern for a vest based on what I have found works for me. Ill let uyou guys know when they are done
Large: £129.50
Small/Ladies: £106.00
Slings: £19.97

when your bird catches prey you use your bag to cover quarry and lift your bird on a piece of meat...cant see you doing that with a vest---tarqs

I used to use vest, bag and jacket. I'm just sticking to the vest now, more practial but needs redoing as it's too big in places and looks wierd.

Sorry guys Im struggling with these pics here. Ive got them as Jpegs but they are too large for the forum. Does anyone know how I can reduce the size of each file so I can put them on this forum?

I use the Doug Pineo Bandolero bag.

The thing I like about it is the strap which goes around the waiste. Even when running the bag doesn't bounce up and down.
Plenty of room in the pockets as well.

I own a Doug Pineo waistcoat and it is the dog's ****** in the field. Recently a few friends have bought a similar styled waistcoat from Julian from the Falconers Emporium. This waistcoat is identical in style but from a lighter material which in my mind makes it more suitable to wear and use.
100 % recommend.

Waistcoat all the way!
A falconry bag is all well and good, very traditional but when pursuing a Goshawk across fields it acts like a propeller, though it provides no propultion whatsoever and loves to "hang out" with barbed wire!
Tarqs, Why the hell do you need to cover the game in order to get the gos off it?
Not a dig in any way!!! just curious :)

Not a dig in any way!!! just curious :) BB we never had the option during most of my Gos career & whilst i agree with you in thhe main, I found the bag was a good( wedding tackle) protecter when getting over barb wire fences:lol:

Double zipped at the back, nice big vest every day!!! helps keep you warm, useful to drape over those darn wire fences, dosn't crack you on the legs as you belt down the field after your bird before that megga bunny escapes. Holds all your equipment, secateurs, 1st aid and even up to 5 bunny safely stowed in the back. Just dont forget to close the zips on both sides or the bird fits in there quite nicely too if she spots that bunny tail sticking out!!!
