Hi just to say thanks to MickeyDreed who invited me along to some of his ground this morning to let me see his F/RT in action.
After all that rain yesterday never thought we would get out this morning but thank god it was dry.
I met up with M/D about 10.30 and went up to his ground after just getting into the first field his hawk took a flight at some crow's and then a hen pheasant which was a good bit off.
We then started to ferret some holes 1 rabbit bolted but it was just hole to hole so that 1 ended up breakfast for the ferret. The hawk spotted 1 run along the fence line went for it but the rabbit just got into the Gos but the hawk was not for given up she went up and then all you heard was the hawk crashing into Gos bush.
We continued up and around the hill to a high banking which there was alot of cover this time M/D just let his hawk scan the ground and of she went again down after the rabbit this time the rabbit made it into cover in time but the hawk had spotted another 1 so up she went and then dived down and nailed that 1.
After that she spotted a cock pheasant at the bottom of the hill and down she went the pheasant made it into cover in tree's which were in a right wet bog area and again the hawk never gave up in she went.
We started to head back and M/D put the ferret down and min's later 2 rabbits bolted 1 got away but the other was not so lucky it make it to a hole but so did the hawk and grabbed it by the leg(Cracking).
We went back to M/D place were he let me see his M/RT and a M/H and his Great Grey owls cracking birds.
I had to go at his point to get home for my son.
Once again thank you Mick i had a good morning and enjoyed myself that is 1 brave hawk you have.
