Can some enlightened breeder please answer the following query.
Are peresaker hybrids fertile?
I am told that females are not but males can be if from male peregrine.
Would appreciate views comments from experienced breeders.
cheers

Males are more fertile than females, though both are sub fertile.

What about a female Peregrine x Lugger, i have a female id like to pair with a peregrine tiercel but obviously dont want to waste my time trying to do something that aint going to work.

Spot on I have one Female that lays 12 - 14 eggs each season (don't pull them she just won't stop laying) and I've never had a fertile egg from her yet and I've tried Saker, Peregrine and Gyr into her but my mate has one same breeding and gets 10 fertile eggs from her each year naturaly paired to a Peregrine.

so i guess in reply to my question its just a 50/50 chance of sucess depending on the falcon in question so probably worth a go

I have not heared of anyone breeding from this combination but it's worth a try but I would be surprised if it works out for you but then you will never know if you don't try will you?

Why don't you try to breed 1st generation hybrids instad of tri-breds? put Pergrine into Saker or Peregrine into Gyr x Saker ( these make exceptional hunting birds)
Why attempt to breed something that is not easy to sell or breed when a lot of breeders have excelent birds left at the end of the season that they can't sell
Don't breed just for the sake of it think about your market first and then go for it if you must.
Sorry I don't mean to throw cold water on your ideas I just don't want you to spend fairly large sums of hard earned cash on a project thats doomed before you start. If you really want to breed then buy the best stock you can afford,
Your foundation stock is where it all starts so get the best available.
