Hi welcome to the forum m8. Hope you like it here.
If you dont mind me asking first of all.......... What experience do you have?

I would strongly recommend that you read a few books on the subject, take a course at a good falconry centre and find an experienced falconer nearby who can act as a mentor. Taking on a bird is a huge commitment and it is certainly not something to be rushed into.
Books:
Falconry: Art and Practice Emma Ford
Understanding the Bird of Prey Nick Fox
Training Birds of Prey Jemima Parry-Jones
Falconry Jemima Parry-Jones
Falconry and Hawking Phillip Glasier

As for advice look and see what time the advice was posted, normally anything after midnight is viewed through the bottom of an empty Glass!!!
If your getting a Harris Hawk best to ask our resident expert Falcons7 if it's an Owl you want you won't go far wrong by asking Barbary Boy

a shed 10feet long by 2 feet wide......NO way,it is too small...10feet long is good but it should be min 6 feet wide with open front.look at Ninjajohns as an example

To be completely honest with you i do not like newbies to the sport getting birds that soon that have no experience as in most cases i have heard of and seen for myself, the life of the bird is not what it should be...
In your case, you seem commited to it. From what i have heard you seem to be asking all the right questions to make the first steps. However, i believe you are rushing into things. I would like to have heard that you had experience by having experienced days out with "experienced" people. Having a mentor when you are first starting out would be a bonus but not all people are lucky.
I dont mean to be rude (dont think i am) but you really needed to think about it a lot more. Do you have the appropriate techniques to look after, train and fly your bird when you get it after the new year?

look as i said i have a old friend witch is actually my dads cousin and he kept a buzzard for a while and am gonna have a talk to him,
pluse there a center am gonna give a visit near me called "sean, seeon, seean hall" some thing like that.
dont worrie am not rushing into things at all i dont think so anyway. i dont mean after the new year am gonna get me a bird what i mean is am gonna start getting clued up on the things build an avery stuff like that, im no expert but i know the hawk will be the last thing to get so it will be a long time yet,
as i say i have the space the time, and money. so i dont think it will be to much of an obstical to start with.
am all ears so ide much rather want help than a telling off. (only kidding)lol

i apologies, i was under the impression that you where getting a bird after the new year. i must have inteperated wrongly. Thats good. Getting clued up and getting the appropriate experience etc IS the first step to even thinking about getting a bird :D
