not sure what your saying here......taking him with you i presume?? if he is free now then keep him free even if you arent flying him for a few days.....the weight thing only you can judge.

my work will take me away (not to far) so i will still feed him off the fist every night, just wanted to know if he would fly stupid if i keep him at the same weight when i start flying him again!!

no reason why he should Chris.......

if your feeding on the fist can you not at least do some jump ups even if its indoors up some stairs or summat just to enhance that bond and help a little with fitness?

all the best

Chris

flying weight, hunting weight?

diff things and diff tollerances with diff birds espesially the HH...also depends on the birds motivation.....plus weather etc etc

BUT in short the weight will obviuosly increase but only you can judge to what the limits are.

If in doubt just good weight management and keep the weigt were you need it with rations

Hi Chris
putting your bird back on the creance would be a definate no no as this would be an obvious backwards step.As for the fyew days break from flying
everyone in this country has a break from flying there hawk from time to time due to the weather conditions in this country it can either rain for days on end or it is persistently to windy..When the weather is bad i practice the fist jumps with the hawks to keep there muscle up.
The flying weight or hunting weight with the harrishawk .The weight in which your hawk will fly to you can be totaly different than the weight what your hawk will hunt at.By now if your hawk is off the creance he should be flying keenly to you.The correct hunting weight is gained by watching your hawk fly at game and constant weighing .As your hawk becomes fit and puts on muscle
you may find that this initial weight can be raised a little.

HOPE THIS HAS BEEN OF SOME HELP.
