Thank F..k the days will get longer now but I was wondering how some of you guys manage to fly your birds 3 or 4 times a week or even everyday with the lack of daylight at this time of year !! Needs dictate that I have to work to live ( and hawk !) during the week and I barely manage to get 20mins in the morning with my MRT before having to leave for work and not a chance in the evening because its too dark. This is one of the reasons for the choice of red-tail being buzzard family, in the wild its used to sitting around for days waiting for a meal !! It gets fed more often with me but doesn't get any real flying until the weekends.

I fly my MHH every day, well, with that said it does happen sometimes that I skip a day, because of darkness too. But I am studying for my exams at university in january, so I am just sat at home for the next month reading.
so that gives me times to fly, which couldnīt be better.
cheers,
Rasmus

i have the joy of having my own business and can go out whenever i like and during the dark hours i can catch up, back in the workshop
Same here, Part-time job working for a boss, and running a online-shop in my own hours, leaves me with enough time during daylight.

I guess I am on the same lines as DorsetAde at the moment... I go to work in the dark and get home in the dark. I will more than likely be hawking this bird throught the summer months too since the light will allow me a few more hours to hunt in. None of my friends see me anymore since if I'm not at work, I'm out hawking.....Although, I did go out paintballing all day yesterday....after hawking....:-)

Hi Weasel
I was thinking about flying my RT through the summer but the vet advised against it with the first moult. I've heard a lot of pro's and con's about flying through the moult and I'm tempted to take the vets advice.
I beleive you're a RT master, what do you think, you're obviuosly going to fly yours right through by the sound of it ?
Cheers
