Hiya,
Im abit worried, but some people I know are getting an inexperianced bid handler (he's not a falconer lol) to "play" with a juvinlie imrpint female bald eagle.
The eagle already foot's and bites sometimes. The guy in question as no great charmer with birds and can barly fly a harris hawk is a display - never mind the above.
They are doing it to teach him a lesson - but why something so big that could cuase so much damage. I dont like the guy but it's the bird Im worried about? Wont this do something not positive with training etc?
I dont know much so please help! Please be blunt...I dont get big words ATM lol!!! Still half asleep! Been sliding down hill's in north yorkshire as a day trip...sooo many pheasant's...soooo little time!

The guy shouldnt be anywhere near it, and the guy that owns it sounds like a complete arse. Try as you might though Hannah he'll do whatever he wants!

If the guy who owns the eagle have any experiance in eagles at all he should know that to **** of an imprinted eagle can indeed ruin the bird for life! What is it exactly they are expecting the guy to do with it? Mann, fly ore what??

Falcon Bell's: basically, they expect the guy to get injured and "taught a lesson"
Hawk eagle: you'd be very suprised!

Hannah,
I think you should point out to this w****r that if the RSPB or RSPCA got wind of this then the potential harm this will do to falconry in the UK could be immense with all the media coverage it would attract.
The owner of the eagle could possibly also be found guilty of assult if proven that he supplied the eagle with intent to harm and also could be stopped from ever owning a BOP again.
I think ********s like this should be named and shamed

Hannah,
To be very honest with you here, you should be doing the right thing for both the **** handler and the bird.
Firstly the people who are even discussing this little venture have already committed a serious criminal offence for which they could go to prison for. This is tantamount to the offence of conspiring to commit grevious bodily harm. Lets be honest, the injuries this guy could receive would not be minor if the bird were to carry out its full potential.
Secondly, the bird is being mistreated, and even at this stage if the RSPCA, etc were informed, they could confiscate the bird wit the help of the police.
If I were you I would be informing this guy of what is being prepared for him. He may be a pr*ck but he surely doesnt deserve whats coming. If he then wants to pursue the matter with the police then that is up to him.

Thanks BB, that was what I been thinking as well. This kind of people should not be aloud to practice falconry, and yes Stormrider, a apprenterice cheame would be usefull, before you say it......

Thanks ATFHB - honest, on this one I was not even gonna mention an apprenticeship scheme. But you could be right.
Hannah - what is the timescale for this little venture. Will it be soon? Have they actually got the bird? How many people are involved?

As Hannahs not on line. The Bald eagle has been shoved too the side as the owner of the centre was finding her difficult too handle. So and this is the best part, he is working with a Tawny and a Steppes eagle in display. So too cu a long story short he couldnt handle one eagle so hes forgotten about it and moved on to flying two with easier tempriments. F**kin T***er.

What, so this bloke has access to three eagles? Beggars belief, this bloke!
Find out how much he wants for these birds and we may be able to raise the money to rehome them where they will get the attention, expertise and love they need.

I have just seen this thread and I just can't believe some one could be so stupid. Someone has to go there and put a stop to this before this guy gets hurt badly a Bald Eagle can inflict some serious damage when being trained by a professional Falconer let alone an Imprinted one that obviously is in need of some professional help.
I remember when Ken Smiths Son Sean had his face riped open by a Baldy during a display and he knew what he was doing.
Someone needs to get there Quick and sort this out we do not need the bad press when this goes very wrong.
Wheres the Centre Hannah?

hiya,
yeah, right. Back to it. The guy who has been told to man the eagle up told me he knows about the eagles tendencies (already been bit this morning on the finger and a chunk out of his thick jacket) but is still going to carry on.
Now the guy (falconer) has the tawny eagle, Im pretty sure he said it was dream bird, he's gona be spending more time with the very nice, light tawny instead of the baldy.
I hate what's going on, Im not putting my reasons on public display for my safety.
K's offered and Marcus have both offered to take the eagle on buy been put down.
Now your a bit filled in lol. I watched the guy pick the eagle up, he only used a normal double layered glove, and he say's then she walks up hsi arm and stab's, or dances. He hold's her close to his face and high up. She will jump upto his fist.

It does not sound as thought there is a great deal wrong with this bird, its just being handled by f u ckwitts!
And acting accordingly, as you might expect from an imprint.
