HI i have just got intouch with Honeybrook for some rats and have just been told i have to buy 3,000 chicks to get a discount on the rats.
I am disgusted by this because its unfair on the normal falconer.
Does anyone know were to just buy rat as i buy £300 at a time and i dont realy bother with chick except in the flying season and 3,000 chicks wouls last me a life time.

I just paid £8 for ten 60-70g weener rats from a local reptile shop. These are not 'farmed' but bred by someone they know!!!!!!
Quail I get for 50p each, prime and ex-layers.

Cheers lads for the help, i just shocked with the prices and how mad things have gone. I always bought turkey chicks £25 per 1,000 when i needed them from a supplier near me and before i bred my own quail i used to get them from Fair Game but they have closed down.
I,ll have to get intouch with some of the PM,s i have been sent for now and start doing some digging and see if its worth breeding rats for the future.LOL
Thanks again its much appreciated all your help.
For all you lads who use the Brinsea TLc4 brooder ALdi are selling a 12v DC to 230AC inverter these are excellent if you need to get to the vets or you have to do some travelling with your young chicks. They are only £14.99 i have done some tests on them and they do not run your car battery flat when in use. They just plug in to you cig lighter. These are the cheapest i have found and the best for the price, any thing for a bargin.
They are on sale till next THursday and the new lot come in just bought a laminator and shreader as well.
Laminator £14.99
Shreader £19.99 25 litre bin
All the best for the new year lads
