Are cherry stones (which contain cyanide,I believe) poisonous to owls?

The fact that they are listed as poisonous for people to eat so I wondered if they were also poisonous to owls. I was reading up on plant pharmacology to see if there was anything in my garden that would potentially be harmful. I couldn't find a definitive answer on their effect on owls and thought someone on here would probably know the answer.

LOL! Wasn't intending to feed them to an owl but I have a huge cherry tree in my garden - was thinking more of him picking them up accidentally.

what rangle,,,tarqs Rangle is any object(usually stones) that the bird will intentionally ingest to aid in cleaning the crop out. Since Owls have no crop, I do not beleive that they do this......could be wrong though.........In my RT's I have seen them cast up small stones that have a thick greasy layer of crud on them.

That's what worries me slightly - apparently it does no harm to parrots but a lot of seeds and nuts contain small degrees of toxicity and maybe parrots are evolved to deal with it.

I'd agree, the toxin is in the kernel, so the stone would have to be split.
