Hawk Spit Up
Just found my crested goshawk spit up last night
Its a stinky thing and doesnt seems like a common pellet its like he cant digest even a flesh Still got him respond to food, i tried give a full flesh non cast and its just coming out in a few second later Anyway im about far from vets, can anyone give a suggest |
Re: Hawk Spit Up
Vet immediately

Re: Hawk Spit Up
With that little information it's hard to tell for sure, but it sounds like sour crop. Get all rotting meat out of the crop, irrigate, give casting material, iand see the vet. Vet may suggest antibiotics.

Re: Hawk Spit Up
Don't give casting material with sour crop. It needs crop tubing by an experienced hand. And an avian vet immediately.

Well all is get sort now, i just give him some irrigation on the crop so all the rotten flesh just flushed. Giving a quail liver + honey liquid in 3 times a day, the next day i check hes fine.
I got his response is good as a sign. |
Re: Hawk Spit Up
Thats good news. One this the perch you have him on, if this is a permanent perch I would put something like Asto on as the smooth wood is not good for his feet and can lead to bumbell foot.
