Re: Lizzie.Mack Intro

Lizzie,

Training the horse and bird is rather easy if their behavior is within the norm.

We fly a HH and gyraplomado off Peruvian Pasos. What breed do you have?

Don't let the naysayers discourage you only a few years ago many were against antibiotics for various reasons.

Thor,

Quail? Are you using a dog? If so what variety? How often do you take one? We're flying two male HHs and usually running three dogs. Caught a jack yesterday and then a sparrow.

Do you...

Thanks for the forum it provides color every morning with reach over the pond. Little doubt it requires plenty of hard work and devotion.

Bradley,

Sorry I intended on reporting the variety of hawks being flown here. I have a HH and gyraplo only. Friends have two female and one male Cooper's. Several others have HHs.

Re: Pics of the Locals

Tasha,

Beautiful pictures as usual. Good to hear you have a dozer and what an outstanding gos. I wonder her age?

We were forced to hawk in 60 F yesterday. One rabbit with the HHs.

Re: Telemetry questions

Flying a HH doesn't normally require a far reaching receiver so you could purchase a used one in good repair. The economics and time required to borrow a receiver may work out to be expensive...

Hobo,

Good to use caution in selecting your own species of hawk. I'm sure you will take a long look at what is working best for your control work. However, the Harris' is often a good starting...

Another great photo and the first time I've seen the collar on your dog. What is it location or shock?

Desert Hawker,

So do I assume you hunt rabbits with your beagles? Or do you have quail in your area?

Re: Would you feed this to your falcon?

Lyne,

I would not feed any canned food. If you are feeding mouse, rat and quail your rations must be all that is needed.

Rabbit is not meat of high quality.

Re: 3/4 gos 1/4 blackspar

Chris,

You have stunning country to hunt. We're in desert and most of it is flat which is good for out horses. We like the gaited horses and ride Peruvians on the hunt. We avoid the mountains...
