I have used both and I would never go back to a hawking bag now, hawking vest all the time.

Not sure what your hawking ground is like but for climbing fences and gates a vest is much...

I have never flown a Ferruginous myself but a friend of mine flew one on our field meets with mixed success, the most impressive hawk I have ever seen flying into the wind with no effort...
