Exactly the same as you would use Bamboo, shaped to fit by filing and sanding then glued in. Also something to note is try not to get any carbon Splinters as you file or sand down as they are not nice.

Hmmm.. a way forward I think. The size would it be a uniform and you file to the size of the feather or do you go down the road of lots of different ones for different size birds ??

I bought 3 different sizes and give them a rough up with sand paper then use araldyte and never had a problem. Then once they moult out just cut off the section of feather not needed and you have a feather ready to be imped in again.

Hammerwood Falconry sold assorted packs ideal if you have various birds, well they used to haven't bought any in a while

They still do ú10 for a mixed pack all 12cm long

You don't need to buy carbon fiber rods if you have a old carbon fiber arrow shaft laying around just split it from the top down with a pocket knife till you get the rite diameter then use some sand paper to get it fine tuned it is quick and easy and one old shaft will last forever. Also remember to have ventilation when sanding carbon fiber is bad stuff to breathe in.
