Default Loose feathers

Hi guys!

I'm currently flying a last year male red tail. I reclaimed him 2 weeks ago as he started re-dropping new finished tail feathers.
But my problem is with his left wing. Thefirst 4 primaries (besides the last shorter one) have reached their normal lenght but are loose. Everytime the bird bates there is a "whole" between them and the rest of the wing feathers. When I fly him on the creance it even gets worse. He has a hard time flying and you can even hear the wind flapping through.

I really am worried now, as I have NEVER experienced this before with any of my birds.

Does anyone know something about this problem?

Hi,
Quick question, if you hold the end of the wing (up by ends of feathers by his body) is that part loose ?? and does it feel puffy or wet ??
Had this with a peregrine and the end of the wing with 4 feathers came off, he had WTO

Yes it's like the whole part is loose, but not puffy or wet. Heard of WTO before but thought it would only occur in harris hawks? I can post pictures of it tomorrow.

Really you need to let a vet have a look at him, WTO can show it self in all different species and can be for many reasons, hope its not, have you a good vet in your area ?? put a picture up if you can.
Angie.

So I've been at a vet last thursday. It's not WTO, she is not sure yet what it is. But she guesses it might be pfbd which isn't any better...
