Default Perches

Hi all

I've been a falconer now for around 25years and in that time I've never been 100% satisfied with the perches on offer. Now we seam to have rubber topped perches everywhere we look. I must say they seamed a good idea at the time with the hygienic purpose but having purchased a few of them in different types I'm left disappointed. I have started taking matters into my own hands and have been manufacturing my own perches and having a fabricators background I could build anything I like. I manufacture ring perches, block perches ect, To bespoke designs

Hi Paul, that looks decent, is that leather your using on the perching area, and does the ring slide easily onto it without any catching/snagging, also what sort of prices. Cheers. John

Hi John
Yes pal real leather and yes I've been using these for a few years now and there's no problems at all, unlike the rubber topped ones that we see everywhere now. I just think that they look cheap, with they are not and performance is poor in that the ring catchers on the rubber.

I disagree, if smooth rubber pipe is used, and the ring is of a good size, then there is no problem. All to often the rings are much too small.

Hi John
I can see your point John as I've purchased alot of different types with the rubber toppeds, but I think on this occasion I must agree to disagree. I know everyone will have there own preferred type and that's understandable. For me personally I prefer the original bow type with leather tops. The high ring perches on the other hand don't have the issue with the snagging, having said that the leather top must be more comfortable for the bird than hard rubber.

Hi Paul, I didn't disagree with you lol, it was "Hawkies Not Talkies", haha simple mistake, I actually agree with you, are you making them in just one size or med large etc. Also give us details of pricing. John
