Default Found American Kestrel Waterlooville Hampshire

I have literally just come home from work to partially hear on Heart FM Hampshire that an American Kestrel has been recovered in Waterlooville Hampshire !
I didn't quite catch who currently has the bird, I think perhaps the RSPCA !
I have contacted Barbara at the IBR who has no reports and has yet to be informed other than by myself.
Any further information I find I will post ASAP.

Apparently bird was actually recovered last week and is being cared for by an expert !
Barbara at IBR is aware of this one !
RSPCA can be contacted on 0300 1234 999 to reunite.

I'm glad its been handed on to a Falconer/expert. After previous incidents of the RSPCA killing Raptors through presumably, lack of specialist knowledge, I'm glad this one has been handed on! Hopefully Barbara is able to work her magic and get it re-united with the owner.

Kind Regards,

Bradley

Hi Bradley,
I probably jumped the gun abit as I literally walked through the door and only heard part of the report but since it is such a tiny delicate bird thought that I should try and do something before either it fell into the wrong hands or as you say was killed through inexperience !
When it comes to lost birds I would rather it be over reported than not at all !
Hopefully it can be reunited.

Totally agree with you there John, no such thing as over-reporting a lost bird really. As you say, with such a delicate bird, it would be so easy to kill in the wrong hands. Hopefully the owner comes on the scene after all that now!

Regards,

Brad
