Hi all. I am new to falconry and to this forum so pls forgive any silly or apparently obvious questions.
I have a 5/6wk old barn owl and have had it for 2 wks. I am trying to get it to come to me for food but it seems more interested in its surrounding and the sheet i put on the floor for it (for obvious reasons). It is more responsive when it is in the large storage box i keep it in. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what i should do to help improve its response pls. I have tried whistleing whilst giving the food and also just being very patient an waiting, sometimes up to 45 mins, for it to eventually come for the food. It seems to respond better when in its box than when its out on the floor!! Thanks in advance. |
