10/11/13 At 2-00pm she tipped the scales at 2lb-7 1/4oz.

We decided to fly on a friends farm which is mainly flood plane & go for a duck flight, it was a nice afternoon & the gos was very obedient she had a few unsuccessful flights but didn't get to wet so soon dried out, as we approached a drainage dyke known as black ditch some Mallards got up about 12yds in front & climbed the hawthorn trees the other side of the ditch she went for a late one & pulled it down the other side in thick cover, i had to run to the nearest bridge to get around the other side & found her in control of a nice drake in fairly deep cover, she got to eat far to much head & neck while i waited for the wife to join me with the camera as you can see it was quite dark & the flash was needed. But the bonus was keeping dry, this was her 11th outing so far & her 9th kill. Yesterday i went Squirrel hawking with my Grandson although we had a few flights the cover & canopy were far to thick & the rain didn't help we were all soaked to the skin but it gave Lola a good work out.

13/11/13 weight at 2-25pm 2lb-7 7/8oz.

She has not been out for two days so i decided to get out for a couple of hours
with the ferret she very quickly caught the first bolted rabbit not a particularly
taxing flight, then she got spooked by a dog walker and removed herself to the
wood, when i caught up with her she was staring into cover a few yards away and as i arrived a hen pheasant flushed with her in hot pursuit, when i eventually
Found her this is what i found.

14/11/13 2-30pm 2lb-7 7/8oz very windy conditions.

I felt like a punch bag after humping my eagle about all morning & what with the wind didn't really feel like chasing a goshawk around. But i must be a falconry junkie & off i went after a cup of tea & bar of chocolate. On arriving at
the farm i had my doubts, looking at the bend of the tree tops, but being a chuck and chance kind of guy i went for it. Even though i never caught any thing i had an action packed afternoon with flights on walked up rabbit, one was
caught and then lost with her having another go. The cream was some really
action packed flights on hen pheasant four in all, with two of them losing feather, these pheasant are not your usual put down birds but pucker wild ones
that show quality sport. I had a feeling that i was being watched when i heard a
voice calling me, it was the farmer, so i spent 15 minutes in pleasant conversation with him before going on for a final flight on yet another hen
pheasant which crossed the railway line. After crossing at the under pass there was no sign of the gos and the light was fast failing, so out with the lure & a quick blast of my shepherds whistle and lucky for me she came sailing back across one of the drainage dykes. It just goes to show game in
The bag is not always the be and end all in falconry.

23/11/13 weight at 2-20pm 2lb-8oz

Since my last post she's flown four times including to day but three days have
resulted in no kills although she's had plenty of exciting chase's but no cigar untill to day. There have also been 4 days she was not flown but manned while
feeding along our busy road.
This afternoon we enjoyed flights on duck, moorhen, and rabbit, this one was caught by the head just before the burrow and had still tried to go down it, her
wings were mantled and also snagged by bramble, i had to cut away the bramble and before i had a chance to help her she yanked it backwards out of the entrance hole, it was a good size buck of 3lb-11 7/8oz.
This is her 14th kill in 18 outings but all good fun, she was flown right up to 4-45pm and fed up as we walked home in the dark.

24/11/13 weight 2lb-8 5/8oz at 1-50pm.

We flew at a small local farm owned by a friend we only visit there a couple of times a year as it doesn't hold much game, the berry's we tried were vacant so
Some free flying in the small wood was the order of the day with a few flights at cock pheasants that she wasn't able to master when she brought them down, but finally brought a hen to the bag.

Can you spot Lola in the picture, as you can see there's still to much cover
in the woods, i thought i would try my luck on squirrels again this afternoon.
Sport was had and very exciting stuff to, there was one knock down that
ended in a thick rhododendron bush and she was furious that she lost it.
There were several other flights that the squirrels won by escaping in woodpecker holes, and one stalemate on a thickly ivy covered tree no
amount of banging the trunk & shaking the vines would move it. It looks
like a good month before the canopy's clear but she had a fantastic work
Out & so did i trying to keep pace with her.
