Default In need of a bit of help

Hi there!

I am very new to both the forum and falconry. I have just returned from traveling and working abroad and I’m looking for a major change of career and lifestyle, I have always loved birds of prey and want to become a lot more involved.

My ideal situation would be to own my own bird and earn a living through bird control or any other path it may take me. I have just secured a job that allows me to be flexible with the days I work, giving me time to volunteer at my local bird of prey centre and pest control/bird control company, both of which I have contacted and they are more than happy for me to come along to help out.

I am looking for local falconer(s) that wouldn’t mind me tagging along when you’re out flying and even helping out with the keeping of your birds. I’m very keen, enthusiastic and looking to learn as much as possible through any means.

I understand that I need to know as much as possible and have A LOT of hands on experience before even considering getting my own bird.

I think it’s great how much enthusiasm and love for these incredible creatures is on this forum and if there anyone close to the Oxted area (or can be got to by public transport) that can share their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm I would be extremely grateful of any mentoring!

I unfortunately do not currently have my own car but hope to very soon, once I’ve got myself a little more settled.
