Default Bob the Gos

After the way this season had gone with my male gos Skye being killed after hitting a fence trying to put his 16th pheasant in the bag, then Jura an untouched male dying after coughing up blood I was pretty much broken and very close to packing the whole lot in.

I was offered the chance of flying a female for the breeder of Jura till the end of the season but I was worried about dealing with the weight of a big female Gos so had to turn the offer down.

Then I was offered a 5yr old p/r male to fly till the end of the season with the option of buying him if I wanted too, so I took the offer up and a week ago picked up Bob, not a big bird but should start around 1lb 7oz or thereabouts. Spent this week getting him manned down and then on to the creance, had around 130 feet today not instant but getting there, all going well tomorrow with the weather I will put the RT+ on him and into a tree he goes then the fun begins.

I just pray my luck holds out and this season has a happy ending.

Sounds like you have been having a very bad year, nice to hear you are picking yourself up and moving on, when you do lose your birds it can bring you down big time , but you know once its in your blood that it, your here to stay, ATB for the rest of the season

TY John, loosing my male Skye was a kick in the nuts as I could not have asked for a better bird, the untouched male died 2 weeks after getting him and that was me done until the wife gave me an option of divorce or getting back out hunting so I took the easier option and hunting it was. Life can certainly test you at times.
