And Mike, does this look like your own falcon in certain details?

Plenty of free space for a bell (I only use one, on the opposite leg to the close ring).

Me too. I feel for a hawk at night too. Whilst asleep swapping feet. It must be annoying for them too.

Hey Dean, when I was away last season, there was a time when my falcon spent the night by the side of my bed. Every time she scratched, in what was a fairly spartan, echo chamber of a bedroom, it sounded like hell.
As it happens, I was sharing the room with a mate, who at about 4am suggested I slip a bit of folded paper into the bell's slit. I should have done it a few hours earlier really

Default Re: Cables or bewits?

i use 2 difrent methods

for falcons i use a normal bewit like so (i like heareing the bell jingle as the falcons mount only reason i have a bell on them )

for hawks/buzzards i put a small anclet on like so and cabletie the bell to it as i verry rarely use a bell on my hawks as most of the hawking with hawks i do is stalking and a bird decideing to scratch thare hood or move the leg with bell alyes happens as you are creaping up on a hare or what ever so i only put a bell on my hawks if am hawking in woodland or verry enclosed land

P.s i apolajise for the falcon being muddy but she loves mud!!!!
