Sean just place a small piece of card in the slit of the bell and tape it up they will make no noise then ??

Yes button bewits are easy enough to remove one handed we used to use them for telemetry tag if a bird moulted out its tail mount

Sean I use a bewit with a Velcro type fastening as I choose to take the bell off my FHH when not flying as she is frequently in my office when I am working.I tried different types of velcro type materials until I found the type I use[I don't know the name of it] ,It is very strong black in colour and has kind of hooks on.It has never come off and she would not be able to easily pull it off.I use it with a peels bell which has a wide loop on.I will try to find out the name of the product if you would like to experiment.

Wet blotting-paper, will work, then when it dries (and falls out) the bell will still ring, just in case

Steve.

Hi Sean,

Excuse the **** drawing. You know the blotting paper used for drying ink from pens and such on paper?

When wet it expands. When it dries it contracts. So stick a wet piece into the bell. If anything bad should happen, once the paper has dried the paper will fall out and the bell will ring, where-as with tape/card it wont.

Steve.
