Talking Help.. my harris is going vegan!!

Hi all

Got a situation here i think would be a good idea to share and get some opinions.

Sometime ago i was watching tv and saw some athlets consuming powder carbohydrates before training.

I though i might be a good idea to provide a low volume, easily digestible, readily available energy source to my hawk before flights or exercise, but then i tough...naaaaa.. and left this idea alone.

Today i was doing my daily rope training exercise routine ( thanks, berkut) in the backyard when my harris suddenly fly to a banana (yes, the fruit) that my dog steal from the kitchen and left over the grass..

And then the harris promptly eat ALL the banana..even mantling and protecting it from the dog when he tries to sniff it..

Well.. never heard about something like this, so i left him alone and made some pics.

Questions:

Does anyone ever saw a bop ( a harris, in this case) readily consuming fruits on their own?

Would this a good or bad thing?

And about the carbs...
Bananas have low calories but offer a good rate of carbs per volume...
Would it be a good way to periodically gorge the bird?
Did you imagine?: i could start a new breeding center.. just for vegans..

We have a buzzard that eats lots of grass and dandelions, so much so we have to keep him from it. I asked my avian vet who hadn't really seen it or knew why. I also have a friend who use to have a buzzard that loved bananas and it would fly to a local tip that where they were dumping them and gorg on them ? Strange eh ha

I've seen quite afew hawks try to eat anything yellow. Considering there diet usually consists of yellow chicks it isn't very surprising. I very much doubt that a hawk that has never eaten a day old click would would eat a banana. If so I'm sure there would be proof of wild birds doing the same.
Pretty much the same as conditioning a bird to a lure that looks nothing like it's prey

hi! thanks for your answer!

my harris has never eat a day old chick.
its not common around my region.
its easier to buy domestic japanese quail (coturnix coturnix)

but he is veeeery curious and would chase anything that moves, from butterflies to leaves that moves suddenly.

I think that he may get to the banana just to inspect it.. and them finds it taste good.. who knows?

Had a ferruginous land and devour a mushroom before I could reach him. Made him very ill.😩

Any ill effects from the banana?
