Default F˙ria, Female Finnish Goshawk

Just to share some photos of my treasure, a female Finnish goshawk, bred by Mick Kane. This was her 4║ hunting season, and i hope much more will come. She have give me some very happy moments to remember.

She have caught a great number and variety of quarry and she is very tame.

Great looking bird mate,looks like you had some good seasons flying her,how do you moult her out? in an aviary or on a perch? whats her flying weight?mick breeds some lovely birds. have you more pics there fantastic.

Thanks for the complements.
She is parent reared, bred by an imprinted female i guess, her hunting weight goes from 2.8 pounds to 2.9 (end of last season). In my opinion most falconers, including me, when the birds are already in a stage that they allow it, tend to fly them over weighted, they still hunt but it isn┤t the same thing.
When in the moult she is in a chamber, in fact last year she was with a male and have laid eggs, but he was still a brown bird and no chicks were born. This year she is again with the same male, this way she can be used for breeding and always picked up when the hunting season arrive.

She has zero agressivity to men.

I would imagine the warmer weather you have in the hunting season also has its effect on the hunting weight of Northern Goshawks.
