Default Mikeys Beeswax Competition!!

Hi guys n gals!!

I would like to set a competition...the winner will recieve a tub of beeswax formula(if you have one bird then it will treat your furniture for 3 - 4 years with no probs)

There will be three classes you can enter under(the winner of each gets a tub!!) i would like each class to be as educational as poss to beginners and old haggards alike!!!

So for each...you must provide pictures of the progressive production of your chosen class!! To prove that YOU made them..and to be as clear as poss so beginners and haggards might learn something new!!

The classes are to be...
1, Squirrel chaps!(Some of you need em!! so make a set for next season and lets see what you can do.)

2,Mews AND flying jesses + almeri (again you will be needing a set for next season...so lets see what you can do!)

3, This class will be 'adhoc'!!? anything falconry orientated(not already mentioned) and again made by yourself! i.e knife sheath...hood pouch etc...anything You have made from leather to make hawking easier) and not mentioned above!!!

I must stress that photo's are a must..i want this to be as interesting to all as poss...and as educational to all as poss!!
The closing date for this comp will be 03/05/08 and will be judged not only by myself but chosen falconers/austringers from the IFF(sorry but if you have been chosen to judge you cant enter!!) You will just have to buy my formula..lol

Great idea Mikey! and a wonderful offer from you too!

Here is an example thread that I have done with photos on the construction of equipment. http://www.falconryforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18403

Whilst your photos do not need to be so detailed, we would suggest that you provide 3 or 4 photos showing the construction stages.

Uploading photos
To new members or the less technically minded it may be an idea to upload your photos to a online album such as www.photobucket.com and you can copy and past the links onto the forum. This saves you alot of hassle in trying to upload photos directly to the forum.

Hmm!! Hadnt thought about the more experienced!
How about we take into consideration that some have been doing this for years and ,as such as judges we will consider that fact when viewing any entries. So make sure you list your time served as it were. And we should see some really nice examples from the more experienced(will give any beginners some nice ideas n helpfull hints too!!)
Please...if you have not been making falconry furniture for very long, dont be shy...give it a go!!
Can i also say....please keep any winging and slanging matches out of it.It will be nice to see all levels of skill at making furniture and some are obviously going to be better than others!
So come on ...who's up for it!!

Removed due to complaints that the standard might be intimidating to newbies and sponsors
