The Regional Eagle Watch Team of DENR Region 3 scores big!
After receiving word of a Philippine Eagle sighting somewhere within the Mingan Mountains of Nueva Ecija (in Central Luzon)
It confirms the sightings in the area which the eagle known not to exist in the area before.

The area was a closed canopy lowland dipterocarp forest with Tanguile tree Shorea polysperma as the dominant species. The team observed for the whole day but the eagle was nowhere in sight. The observation was not a total loss because we were still able to observe several notable birds in the area such as the Red Crested Malkoha, Philippine Fairy Bluebird, Luzon Tarictic Hornbill and the Rufous hornbill, all Philippine endemics.

It's good to know that the Philippine eagle still thrive in Luzon area like in the mountains of Kalinga and now in Nueva Ecija.

The Raptor Resource Project is the nonprofit organization responsible for installing the eagle cam near the Decorah nest, as well as others along the Mississippi River, in Colorado, California, and beyond. The scope of the project includes many species including turkey vultures, great blue herons, red tail hawks, peregrine falcons, Canadian geese, and his newest undertaking, the Philippine eagle.
"It's probably today's modern velociraptor. I mean, it feeds on monkeys! And it's beautiful, and gorgeous, and powerful, and it has this majestic crest, and these blue eyes--no other bird of prey has blue eyes!" says Anderson. "We're hoping to set up a Philippine eagle cam set up in the Philippines, so that all the Filipino people can take ownership of their national bird. It could be the greatest thing we've ever done as conservationists." He says that in perhaps six months the Philippine eagle cam will go live.
