Default Curing a Sticky Footed Tiercel Gyr x Pere

I got a 2014 PR Gyr x Pere last season (I got him received him 3 months into the season). He was manned but minimally trained to the lure. He had 2 vices - picking at his jesses which he stopped and being very sticky footed. I am guessing the sticky footedness was probably due to keeping him at a low weight and fist feeding.

Fast forward to today after being flown for 3 months (primarily to the drone and lure) and currently in the moult, he is still very sticky footed. It is not so much grabbing the glove hard but letting go when placed on the perch (ratcheted). I literally have to pry open his talons everytime. I have stopped feeding on the fist completely (feed on an outdoor feeding perch at mealtimes). Any suggestions?

I really don't want to go into next season with this horrible habit.

Get used to it, it will be very difficult to completely cure no matter what you do, but keep doing what you're doing and the intensity may ease. good luck.
