Default Looking for a mentor gloucestershire

Hi all,
I'm looking for a mentor or someone to tag along with this season(maybe handle the ferrets) preferably within the Gloucestershire area. I'm 28 by the way

sorry if it's in the wrong area also I suppose it would help to say that my preference will be for a redtail hawk

Hi all
I am looking for a mentor or someone I can shadow for a few seasons I can offer photography skills.
Some may notice that I have taken a year away this was purely to reflect and read a few books more than a few times as some posts suggested.
Hopefully someone can point me in the direction of someone who's in Gloucestershire or the surroundings.

Cheers all
Nick

I can't really help you here but have you tried local Falconry centres? They may have contacts to pass on. I hope that you manage to find someone who's willing to help you.

Good Luck,

Bradley

Its worth a try, that's how I've managed to gain a lot of my experience. Gloucestershire seems like a great County for Falconry. I've very well thanks, hope you're the same?

Regards,

Bradley

I'm great thanks brad
The rabbit population seems to be picking back up in a few of my permissions (air rifle) but the pheasants have gone through the roof and squirrels are everywhere.
I want to see a few different types flown around over a few seasons see if my first choice of a redtail will suit! the county certainly does change a fair amount.

Redtails I have seen to be good on Rabbit and Females have the power to safely take down Squirrels. It sounds as though you have quite a versatile range of fur and feather quarry. Whilst I have seen a Redtail make a great attempt at Pheasant, they have to have a good level of fitness or be lucky to be successful on these. If you're looking to get a Redtail them Mick Bourne's thread on his Male 'Archie' is a great read: http://www.falconryforum.co.uk/showt...t=Heres+Archie
