Hi Tony, well done on the snipe, I'v looked in on your thread, your having a good time, not seen any snipe here yet, we had another great flight on a pie today, Jimmy clipped it, and chased it to the same tree, I swear it was the same one. Black ditch stopped us running over to re flush, still I was pleased with his performance in only his 8th outing, the wind was strong and raining this morning.

An extract from my diary: 28/10/17

Jimmy G 9-10am 586g / 1lb-4.7oz flying weight

fed to 674g / 1lb-7.8oz fed 88g /3.1oz of mallard drake neck meat with pigeon breast.

He flew at a good pitch, in excess of 400ft, over Black ditch, where he stooped and hit one mallard, knocking it back in the ditch, he climbed again over the spot, Hunter was still pointing where the bushes over hang the bank, I thrashed the bush again, and a Drake went out over the open field, at this point the tiercel was further along the drainage ditch still climbing and Sherry was further behind on the ditch edge, so although not engineered, it was perfect, Jimmy was only a couple of hundred feet up and wide, storming across the sky to bind to the duck about 40 feet in the air, tumbling to the ground. Sherry served as a marker while I ran to the nearest crossing place, as quick as I could to help him with the struggling bird.

Jimmy G 7-15am

flying weight 596g /1lb-5oz.

fed to weight 680g / 1lb-8oz eat 84g /3oz of chick & teal.

He made good height after releasing him about 200yds from the pond, although a little wide, a couple of times he looked like he was going to check, however the whistle turned him back ( shepherds whistle ), I timed my walk in wrong, and flushed a group of mixed ducks when he was wide, but he powered over at an angle of approx 45 degree's at approx 400 foot to knock down a hen teal, with a short throw up and wing over to secure it.

Thanks Terry.

Jimmy G 2/11/17.

Flying weight at 7-30am 606grams / 1lb-5.3oz.

Fed to weight 704 grams / 1lb-8.9oz 98g/ 3.6oz of chick and BB.

Could not fly on the farm by the river, a real pea souper this morning, so headed to the farm on the downs hoping it would be clearer on the high ground. Well it was flyable and so I had a tap along the hedge row, never seen so many BB, he waited on well following along tight as i worked the hedge along to the end, a herd of BB left the hedge heading for some turnips, he rolled over and bound to one inches off the floor and not very far from the roots.
