Hi Bernie,
I am hoping to go. I haven't booked it yet though. I'm unsure at the moment if it's possible. I'll endeavour to keep you informed. All the best .

I've always wanted to go to the British Falconry Fair, sounds like a Falconer's paradise. Unfortunately, I am too busy to go this year however my parents say we can probably go next year so I'll look forward to it. How much does it cost to get in? What kind of stalls do they have?

Would you say that it would be a good idea for someone who deffinitely wants to take up Falconry to get some equipment there? I have heard it is a good place to purchase telemetry as there is a facility for field-testing the equipment, is this true?

Regards

Bradley

P.S. I hope you don't mind me firing off questions

Not at all, please ask away.
It is ú13 for adults and under 13's are free.
Here is a link for more information:

For telemetry I'd recommend: www.falconryelectronics.co.uk Ask for Eddie.

It has many equipment suppliers. Some return many times, year after year. Some attend for 1 year only. The Sunday is the better day for trade/equipment etc. Get there early. Shop around early then If you see something you like, buy it. If you go back later, it may have gone.

Feel free to come along and browse. I'm usually situated on the top, high bank. My green sign has been replaced by a yellow www.falconryequipment.com banner.

If you are still interested in the glove clips feel free to call me.

Thanks for that Ian, If I see your stall I'll pop over and say hi. I have heard lots of good feedback from Falconry Electronics. Thanks for the heads-up over the equipment thing, stuff goes quick then! Parents have said it's almost a deffo we'll go next year. Can't make it this year because I have work experience at my local Falconry Centre funnily enough! I haven't actually got a bird yet but hoping to when I leave school in Year 11. I don'tt think it would be at all fair on the bird at the momment as I just don't have the time (along with other things) to commit to such a responsibility. It's very tempting though but I keep telling myself "one day I will get a bird!" You can imagine how annoyed I get when I see people who have bought a bird but can't take care of it or mistreat it. I'll look forward to going to the Falconry Fair. Would you say it would be a good idea to look at getting some equipment early before I get the bird?

Happy Hawking

Bradley

Hi Bradley,
Most certainly.
As soon as you know what hawk you will be getting it is never too early to acquire your intended furniture.
I've had a few calls from people wanting equipment only to learn their hawk/falcon is arriving in 3 days time!
I usually turn my orders around within 48-72 hours but it can be a problem if I'm away at a game fair.
I'd say allow 14 days to be on the safe side.
Good luck in the future and also with your work experience. I'm sure you'll do very well.
