I think people need to review there security especially on the doors and make sure any hinges don't have screw showing on the outside because you can bypass the lock by just unscrewing the screws and moving the other side I the door

Maybe an alarm that can be turned on at night as I would say 90% would be taken at night especially in the rain due to covering noise but a simple alarm that prob can be made with maplin parts

An idea that pops into my mind is a pressure release switch, basically if the door gets opened the pressure switch gets released which in turn sets an alarm off, which will scare off the intruders and wake you up immediately
I would say away from the magnet contacts as they can be bypassed as well, not going to say how but not very hard to do

I would say a dog in the garden is a must, keep it away from strangers ie anyone who isn't family, also only allow 1 main person to feed the dog or a set way he won't take food from anyone as then someone can't throw meat or chocolate over the fence to the dog
Also might be an idea if you only have a fence to access the from to the back to modify it with a door or solid piece of wood
If you have no direct access from the front to the back then it makes it all the more harder

Also look at fencing and access from a few neighbours as sometimes they may even jump a couple of back gardens to get to yours and escape this way

Food for thought

Sickening news. I hope, like everyone else on the forum, that you're soon reunited with your hawks.

Mate you have had 3 stolen and after the first one what did you do ask them to come back and have another one and then with the next one did you have dinner with them Mmmmmmm there is something going on here
My goshawks are on lock down and laser beams all over the place and three Staffordshire bull terriers roaming free just in case and they are just pure finish
Mate is a bad thing to happen but it sounds a bit dodgy to me????
