I brought a Jim Chick 173MHz antenna and a 173MHz antenna off Ebay...

Combined them with a Yipituri MVT-7100 scanner...

With this combo I get a range of 2 miles, it was affected by power lines etc so picked up some interference...

Need to filter out some of the noise to improve the Signal/Noise ratio as further than 2 miles I can still detect the signal but it's surrounded by way too much noise that only just about makes it audible...

What else do you wish to know...

I am currently working on a mod to increase the range I can receive the signal at, by simply filtering out the noise...
