Default Owl breed query

Hi there I am new to falconry and volunteer with owls among other birds of prey. Has there ever been a case of a European eagle mating with a Canadian great horned Owl? I only as because we have both birds in the same aviary and the Canadian great horned owl (female) is displaying some curious tendencies I e throwing her food in the corner and digging in the ground and I was wondering if this sounded familiar to you guys?

Thanks in advance
