Smile Mews/Weathering Plans

Hi,
Been reading through all the threads and posts with interest and come up with some (very rough!) plans based on the room I have available. I would appreciate any views/recommendations please. Especially with regard to size and anything i may have missed. I am planing on building concrete footings, with a 4"x2" frame and a sloping roof.
Many Thanks
Kevin

Looks sound to me, plenty room, be tidy, do your research, and keep tweaking. i find it helps to keep telling everyone your plans,(people with experience (be gentle, you'll probably do they head in a bit . i know i did.)and be ready to change them,
, i found its beneficial to keep building it over and over in your head before you start, surprising how many potential problems you pick up on
Enjoy the process!

Concrete footings with one course of heavy duty 7N concrete blocks (NOT breeze blocks then start your framework on top of that.

Make sure the height is good too.

I have been building mews / aviary's for years so if you need to know more just PM me.

Great Thanks, Will move the door and post updated plans and pictures as i start building on here. Is it worth having a hatch between the mews and the weathering? Like the idea of a course of blocks to give it more stability/waterproofing/insulation

Kevin,

Plans look fine, but how about....Building your weighing room the length of your mews & a little wider? Your current plans of 1 m wide may well be tight once you have a bating bird on the glove? The door from the weighing room into your mews is a great idea too.I wouldnt have a door into the front of the aviary, if you have access from your w/room and through from the mews.Bars & not wire!

I fully appreciate that all this of course depends upon your garden layout, room avilable and of course 'er in doors! Security is also something else to consider hence no door in the front.......I hope this and other points continue to be constructive for you.

Im not far from you if you need help.

Good luck
